I’ve discovered that Timmy likes pancakes! pancakes! but only eaten his way. If you DARE cut up his pancake! pancake! you will certainly receive the wrath of the terrible twos.
Master snack: Cheap ass nachos, but watch the kid, he eats the cheese and puts back the chip (don’t mind the messy carport!)
Oh yum. If you are PMSing or just need a good junk food fill up, then this is for you! The kids, Mother In Law, and I went to Chilis the other day. Oh yum. We got hot artichoke and spinach dip (yum), Texas cheese fries (oh yum), Big Mouth Bites (mini cheeseburgers), and the adults got some chicken enchilada soup. Oh yum. We were sooo full! And the nice part was, it only came to $36! Not a bad meal for 5 people!
And lastly, Lucy. I really didn’t want another dog after Gumbo. We’ve been through so many dogs, and I just didn’t want to deal with another. But someone Mike works with, her neighbor had her. Her two brothers were gone and she needed a home. When I saw her, she melted my heart. She sits in my lap most of the time, although she slept on Mike’s head last night. Last night Mike took her outside, and when she came back in, she ran to the love seat (where I normally) sit, saw I wasn’t there, and started whining. Granted, she does whine a lot, but whatever. Here she is, traveling in FAB style!

Ok, I normally buy the Kraft Parmesan, asiago, Romano blend, if not a true wedge of Parmesan. But for a mere $4.99 I found the Kraft Grate-it fresh.
Now, it does grate that easily. The mess is minute. But it seems TOO soft to be true Parmesan cheese, not to mention how quickly it melts on my hot dishes. I feel the flavor is too mild. But my family loves it, and it’s not messy. I’ll probably buy it again.
While feeding my children a wonderful meal at the mall, at the glorious Corn Dog Store, who has a menu consisting of corn dogs, hot dogs, chili dogs, nachos, french friends and funnel cakes. Delicious. I’ll accept my Mom of the Year award tomorrow, I need to get some clean yoga pants first.
So I hear this LOUD mom, telling her LOUD sassy teenage daughter to shush it after she yelled out to some boys. So one of the three teenage girls says, “I want a funnel cake.” Loud Mom says, “NO! This is DIN-NER! Not a snack! You will eat a corndog!”
hehe, I too would’ve rather had a funnel cake over a corn dog. I will honorably step down and let Loud Mom accept my award.
A few weeks ago, when Mike’s schedule came ut and I noticed that he had TWO days off ~ IN A ROW ~ I asked if he wanted to go out of town. Ya know, Branson, Dallas, Kansas City, Memphis. Someplace for a weekend trip, and we could even take the kids. He said, “Let’s go camping!” And for some stupid reason I agreed. If I had known then, what I know now, I wouldn’t have gone.
No, you can NOT go camping with a weather reading of:
TEMPERATURE: 98
HUMIDITY 49.9%
FEELS LIKE 103
The lake water was like warm bath tub water. Ick. Even by the dam it was warm. You couldn’t get cooled down. I took the boys to the gas station (I needed a really cold cold drink), just so they can be in the car with some A/C. It was even worse at night. The HUGE flies that bite (yes, house fly looking things that BITE and HURT), and other bugs were hungry, and our hot sweaty bodies were irresistible. It wasn’t until after midnight that the last kid went to sleep, and very reluctantly at that. They cried because they were hot, but did not want to go home.
I read until about 3AM, reading Stephanie Meyer’s first book in the Twilight series, Twilight. It was very good, considering it’s geared to a teen age range. I’m going to put the kids to bed tonight, open my bottle of Little Penguin Pinot Noir and read the second book, New Moon! Then I’ll have to get the third one (Eclipse), which is only out in hardcover (I have the first two in paperback). And the fourth and final book comes out August 2nd. If you haven’t heard of these books, they are extremely popular and will more than likely be sold out (especially the new one). Yeah, I didn’t know about them until recently either, but thanks to some wonderful ladies (HOFF HOFF), they geared me into the right direction!
Here’s a rock that Zachary found, errr, on a beach full of rocks. He felt compelled to give it bunny ears.
Dinner. Hmmm Dinner. Mike is having a guys night out on the lake tonight. Yes, the idiots are camping. So dinner is my choice. I kinda want to pick up some Olive Garden, but the boys are wanting pizza (again). I thought about taking them somewhere, but we did go to this great little local joint, 2 Boys and A Dog. We had some ice cream. This was our first visit and it was more than I expected. They had a mixing board (think Cold Stone Creamery) and a great lunch menu. Certainly a stop for another time WITHOUT the boys.
What else? Camping. Brennen somehow toasted his roasting stick and burned Timmy on the back. Then while in the water, he skipped a rock, right into Zachary’s eye. When we were trying to sleep, Zachary was crying because his legs were hurting. So I measured them, stretched them, measured again, and noted to him that they had grown! So he has told everyone today (strangers et al) that he grew last night.
Oh, and after the ice cream stop, I needed a drink (yes that kind, but I resisted). I stopped at Sonic, and for some reason ordered a Route 44 Coke. First, I never will drink a Route 44. I drink that much in like three days (yes, bad I know). Much less a coke! I drink a coke with dinner most days. That’s it. What in the world posessed me to get that!
Gas. My gas-O-meter hit half a tank today and I saw that I had driven 189.9 miles so far. WOOT! The dealership had filled it up before we left. I’m hoping to make it until Friday, fill up, and see what my MPG is!
Here’s my Tahoe, that is now Mike’s Tahoe. Please note the RIMS he put on them (rolls eyes).
Cleaning. My house needs it. All over. ‘Nuff said.
Family. I loved seeing Mike and the boys play and laugh in the water. It’s nice. They say money can’t buy happiness, but thanks to a nice gift from Mike’s mom, we paid and caught up on all our bills. I’m not sure if that’s why we felt so much more relaxed. But it was nice. Real nice.
Dinner. I’m still stuck on dinner. I don’t think I want to go out, so I’m leaning toward pizza or chinese. Hmm…
ETA: It ended up being Dominos Pizza.
ETA2: Added colors to separate my thoughts
yes, another.
I don’t have a lot of nice stuff. But, I do take care of my stuff. The issue lies with the men in this house.
Someone just took me “L” key. I have no “L” key. I must use a pointy object to use my “L”.
I was getting dressed for work. I tried to tie my scrubs, and one tie is missing. It’s a rough edge now, which leads me to think that it was the four legged male. A smooth cut would be the middle child.
My Lo-real bare minerals type makeup is gone. $9 is a lot for me to spend on a thing of makeup. I can see where is was dropped across my bedroom. There are little spots of ivory dust. Then it disappears. I believe it was the Baby.
I have a roast in my fridge. I would love to put it in my crock pot. Oh, I don’t have a crock pot pot. I have the crock pot. But not the pot. Why? Oh, the eldest male thought he could reheat the chili on the STOVE TOP.
I bought nice curtains when we bought this house. Twenty bucks a panel. Yeah, that may not be a lot to you, but it is to me. They are now folded in a closet because some people can’t keep thier hands off it. The curtain rods were tossed out because they were bent.
My $120 Birkenstock have been eaten. My kitchen-aid red pots are now an ugly color, from being put in the dishwasher. I have chocolate milk stains in my truck.
Ugh, thanks for the vent.
Here’s a delicious dish that I made tonight.
1 pack of pepperoni (or italian sausage or ground beef if you like)
1 bag of pasta (rotini, shells, swirls, bowties, etc)
1 can of cheese soup (nacho cheese is fine)
1 jars of spaghetti sauce (we like the classico line of pasta sauces)
fresh garlic or 1 can of Hunts fire roasted diced tomatoes with garlic (try this in many dishes, it’s really great)
shredded cheese (I vary between mixes, always love romano and asiago, both have great flavors)
Boil pasta, mix everything in a casserole dish and bake at 350 for 25 minutes or so. You can add olives, peppers, etc. My family loves this dish!
